Biography

For the past ten years, Lady Bazaar has been spreading its contagious soul and groove all over the world. After “First Date” (2014) and “L.BZ” (2016), the funky quintet made a name for itself with its album “Brave” (2018), which opened the doors to many festivals and clubs in Switzerland and Europe. In the fall of 2022, they released the EP “The Journey” (Escudero Records), which lets us discover the group’s new soulful and powerful voice, Tyssa! The funk energy that has characterized them since their beginnings is still present, but this latest opus also incorporates African grooves and sounds, which echo the African-American musical influences of their sound worlds.

After two years of touring with their new line-up, the group felt a collective desire to create a new album together. This new opus (the 5th) entitled “Call Me Lady” was recorded during the summer of 2024 and will be released in the spring of 2025.

With more than 220 concerts to its credit, Lady Bazaar has made the stage its playground. Their concerts are pure moments of energy and sharing with the public, you will surely not leave without having sweated! They have been able to open for great international artists such as Selah Sue, Hermeto Pascoal, Yussef Dayes, Akua Naru, Thundercat, Ghost Note, Sandra Nkaké, Thomas de Pourquery, No one is Innocent, etc … in prestigious festivals or clubs (Montreux Jazz, Cully Jazz, Embassy Festival, Moods, Bellevilloise, etc.). Lady Bazaar’s show is an invitation to dance, party and share. Let yourself be invaded by this contagious energy!
